Professional status

Safeguarding
- Abuse and harm can affect anyone. Culture is never a reason to excuse harm.
- I am alert to domestic abuse, female genital mutilation (FGM), forced marriage, exploitation and trafficking, and risks to children and adults.
- I will tell you at the start that I must share a concern if someone is at risk of serious harm, and where possible I will talk to you first.
- Concerns are shared with the relevant midwifery, children’s or adult safeguarding team, or the police, following local procedures. In immediate danger, I will call 999.
